Collection: BC Avifauna: An on-going series of to-scale birds

These prints were recently shown at the Hearth Arts Gallery on Bowen Island in a joint exhibit with artist Sarah Ronald titled - Territory: Obtrusive.

Artist Statement:

"BC Avifauna, is an exploration of local birds that inhabit BC, from the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and Southern BC Coast. In this body of work, I am creating relief prints and illustrations that showcase birds and fowl of the aforementioned locations, with the intention of encouraging viewers to engage with the wonder of birds. From song, to pollination, to pest removal, each bird plays an important role in our ecosystem, and many of them are becoming endangered due to loss of habitat. It is my hope that these works will encourage viewers to engage in conversation of how we can protect these creatures from becoming endangered, or worse, extinct in the years to come."
